Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 made a showing at E3 2018 with an action-packed trailer featuring what appears to be the Sinister Six and a tease for their mysterious leader, but thanks to a free Daily Bugle newspaper distributed to E3 attendees, there’s now a whole lot more to pore over. Here’s everything we found in our read-through, including Easter eggs for Iron Man, Daredevil, and what we think is the setup for a late-game plot twist.

The Avenger

Eagle-eyed Marvel fans have already spotted Avengers Tower off in the distance in both promotional artwork and in the E3 2018 game demo, but the newspaper features yet another tease for Earth’s mightiest heroes. A “For Sale” ad lists a 19th-century home at 890 5th Avenue, which is the address of that other Avengers headquarters in the comics, Avengers Mansion.

Iron man

The ad says it’s the home of a “prolific NYC Industrialist,” which is of course everyone’s favorite genius/billionaire/playboy/philanthropist Tony Stark aka Iron Man. While there’s been no mention of any other Marvel heroes who will show up in Spider-Man’s upcoming video game adventure, it’s clear that Spidey exists in a version of the Marvel Universe where the Avengers are fully formed and therefore anyone from the team could make a cameo. Given how closely movie fans now associate Iron Man with Spider-Man after seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War, it’s not unreasonable to think this game might include that relationship,too.An ad for Nelson & Murdock is for the law practice of Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock, the latter of which you know as the costumed vigilante Daredevil. This could just be a fun Easter egg not worth reading into... but reading into things is what we’re here for! Spider-Man and Daredevil have a long history of teaming up in the comics, which is no surprise given how they both patrol New York City and can count Kingpin Wilson Fisk as one of their greatest enemies. They’ve both even had romantic entanglements with the master thief known as the Black Cat.

Spider-Man will be released on PlayStation 4 on September 7.
